Petra (second photo) and her litter mate Phalco (first photo) both gained Championship titles very quickly taking the dog and bitch challenge at a NZKC National, with Petra taking Best of Breed over her brother and also Junior of Group. Petra has taken a Best of group, and many junior & intermediate of groups at all breed shows. Petra along with her brother have been graded VG Select as juniors many times and since both entering intermediate classes have been graded Excellent at Speciality GSD shows. The latest being Easter weekend at the Royal Canin Wgtn District GSD Speciality Show 2017, where Petra was graded Excellent and took the Bitch Challenge and Reserve of Breed on the first day, and Intermediate in Show both days under international speciality judges.
Deb and Garry Ingham from der Ingolsta German Shepherds owned their very first GSD in 1967. She was a working dog on a farm and loved the challenge of working with the stock. In 1976 they purchased their very first show dog which was more the family's best mate than a show dog, but he loved to strut his stuff in the ring and really got them hooked on the breed. Deb and Garry have been members of the NZ Kennel Club since 1976 and bred their first litter in 1980.
der Ingolsta currently still have many GSD’s of all ages ranging from 7 months up to der Ingolsta Just-One (Justy) a Best in Show and In Show winner at speciality shows, who is nearly 12 years old!
der Ingolsta’s all-time top winning bitch was der Ingolsta Felicity who gained her Championship title in speciality shows only (back in the days when there were large entries of GSD’s) and achieved over 20 Best in Shows and many more gold medals Under International Specialists Judges.
Deb who was previously was employed in the Animal Health sector for 17 years became well educated about the benefits of using a premium dog food. After using several other brands, in 2005 they decided to start feeding Royal Canin and have never looked back.
der Ingolsta’s goals are to continue visiting overseas GSD shows as they enjoy siting new and improved bloodlines and their off spring, and importing semen to NZ that will continually complement their bloodlines.
